Dear CIA Students,
Join the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Noisebridge for a two-day weekend unconference on hacking and activism. Come join in workshops, discussions, and skillshares at the Mission's local Hackerspace.

Topics will include:
Open hardware
Know your digital rights
Wikileaks and social movements
Technology and worldwide resistance
Social networking for radicals
Location privacy
Securing cellphones
P2P and anonymous networks
Gender, race and technology
EFF presenters include: Senior Staff Attorney Marcia Hofmann, Technology Director Peter Eckersley, Activism Director Rainey Reitman, and Web Developer Micah Lee. We'll also have EFF membership specials available and new swag including our popular "I Do Not Consent to the Search of This Device" laptop sticker. Attendance is limited to 200 participants so please RSVP.

Hello all,

Welcome to a new year at SFSU and a new semester in CIA. This blog is designed to be an open forum for all to post thoughts and events or anything related to classes or new technology that might be relevant in our growing field. My name is Shawn and along with Paula Levine i will be managing this blog this semester so feel free to communicate through this blog with others in CIA to create collaboration with one another.

internship with The Living Library

"Students are needed now to help us with the Living Library Nature Walk in conjunction with Life Frames, Inc & A Living Library and the Recreation and Park Department.  We are working in the Islais Creek Watershed with many interrelated opportunities.

We are working with several parks, schools, housing developments leading to the Islais Creek at the south end of St. Mary's Park.  Students will work with trees, understory and other Park activities and Watershed opportunities.  

Do you have students at this time who may be interested in participating in the upcoming semester ? 

If interested, students could also help out at other Branch Living Library school sites in the Excelsior, Bernal Heights, and Chinatown.
