Gallery Intern
Established in 1962, Crown Point Press is a publisher of limited edition fine art etchings and woodcuts by internationally recognized artists. The etching studio and gallery are in a historic landmark building located in the South of Market neighborhood within two blocks of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
This is a part-time position for an individual seeking to gain entry level experience in the workings of a contemporary art gallery. The position is designed for a college student with some work experience who is extremely detail oriented and self-motivated.
Requirements and skills:
Gallery Intern duties revolve around providing administrative support to the gallery and will learn many different aspects of gallery operations. An ideal candidate should be self-motivated, and enthusiastic with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
Gallery responsibilities include answering phone, greeting visitors to the gallery, photocopying articles, updating and organizing artist files, email correspondence, some internet research, and other administrative tasks.
This is an internship for college credit with a commitment of 1-2 days a week. Wednesdays and Saturdays are preferred, but we can be flexible with school schedule.
